**Position Overview**

Reporting to the Manager of Arts and Culture, this position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies related to the City’s arts and culture policies; building capacity within arts and culture community, administering the public art program; developing and monitoring long and short-term business plans, policies and service standards; developing/renewing, implementing and managing key contracts and agreements related to arts and culture projects and programs; and researching and recommending service delivery proposals and opportunities based on industry trends and service needs.

**Responsibilities**

This position will be responsible for:
In collaboration with arts and culture service owner, lead, design and implement business plan, policy, and service standards for service area. In some cases, act as project manager or business lead on strategic reviews of service delivery or facility projects including but not limited to research, communication, report writing, and managing consultants.
- Develop and facilitate opportunities to build and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders and government agencies to promote, develop and integrate the service plan goals and objectives that drive business solutions. Initiate and encourage partnerships with various agencies. Provide leadership to the service area on development of policies, plans, contracts and agreements and procurement documents.
- Develop and implement public art annual workplan and public art projects in support of the Public Art Master Plan Update.
- Plan and coordinate Request for Expressions of Interest and/or Request for Proposal and the jury review process for each public art project.
- Liaise with other departments and consultants to facilitate technical reviews of concept, fabrication, and installation.
- Coordinate and monitor budgets and financial status of specified areas (e.g., current budget, capital budget, reserve funds, contracts, agreements, specific project/initiative, and grants). When required, develop mitigation strategies to meet targets for City operations.
- Provide leadership to the service area on development of contracts and agreements and procurement documents.
- Works with staff and various agencies to identify and secure potential grants.
- Respond to public, staff and elected officials’ inquiries and facilitate resolutions to complex issues. Coordinate requests for future enhancements and updates to programs and facilities from customers and service providers. Review program requests and forward facility requests to operations section for consideration in upcoming budgets.
- Prepare material for City presentations and/or media releases in collaboration with communication advisor. Maintain and update Public Art Website.
- Coordinate the community engagement annual plan for the service area. Collaborate with other Planners to recommend an overall plan for services in the department. Support service owner in implementing the annual plan (e.g., surveys, data collection and analysis).

**Requirements**:
You possess a Community College or university degree in Arts Administration, Art History, Fine Arts, Architecture, Landscape Architecture (or equivalent) or have an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Project management experience would be considered an asset. Additionally, you have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position, with experience analyzing data, managing projects, and working to support arts and culture service delivery.
