There's a new restaurant coming to Truro We are currently under renovations and look to be up and running the beginning of September.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Greet guests warmly and provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere as they enter the establishment.

2. Manage the guest flow and assist in seating arrangements, balancing the needs of guests and the capacity of the dining area.

3. Answer phone calls, take reservations, and manage the reservation book to ensure accurate scheduling and efficient use of available seating.

4. Provide accurate wait times to guests and communicate any delays or changes in seating availability.

5. Escort guests to their assigned tables, presenting menus, and providing any necessary assistance.

6. Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess station, including stocking menus, organizing waiting areas, and ensuring cleanliness and tidiness.

7. Communicate with the waitstaff, kitchen staff, and management to coordinate seating arrangements and manage guest expectations.

8. Assist in managing the waiting list during peak hours, ensuring efficient table turnover and guest satisfaction.

9. Provide general information to guests about the establishment, such as menu options, daily specials, and upcoming events.

10. Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints, escalating issues to management when necessary.

11. Assist the serving team in clearing and sanitizing tables

**Requirements**:
1. Previous experience as a Hostess or in a similar customer service role is preferred.

2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.

3. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage guest flow and seating arrangements efficiently.

4. Ability to work well under pressure and handle challenging situations with poise and professionalism.

5. Attention to detail, ensuring accurate communication and coordination between guests, waitstaff, and management.

6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in the food service industry.

7. Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

8. Knowledge of reservation management systems and basic computer skills.

9. Positive attitude, warm personality, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

10. Fluency in multiple languages, particularly in areas with diverse clientele, is an advantage.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday

- Weekends as needed

- Truro, NS B2N 4B4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
