Patient Food Services provides meals to inpatients at both University Hospital and Victoria Hospital based on the physician prescribed diet and allergies listed. Patients are provided a menu based on their prescribed diet so they can make meal selections for the following day. A lot of research, preparation, and care go into each meal served by LHSC Food Services to ensure patients receive choices that meet their unique nutritional needs, tastes, preferences, and allergy requirements.

**Job Summary**:
**What the Role is**

Reporting to the Director, Support Services & Environmental Operations, the Manager, Food Services directs, controls and evaluates the delivery of patient food and infant feeding program services. They are responsible for translating decisions of the program leadership into execution, by utilizing relationship management and working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the necessary outcomes. The Manager ensures their team and department operations are aligned with our mission, vision and values, while working together to successfully achieve our strategic objectives.

This role is accountable for day-to-day department activities, including the management of human resources, day-to-day staffing and scheduling, development and support of a healthy workplace, risk and utilization measurements, and facilitation of improvement initiatives and change management, while operating within approved operational budgets and financial guidelines and controls. The role is accountable to monitor and manage food service equipment, including fridges, freezers, tray line, and dish room. A major focus of the role is fostering effective working relationships and networks within the team and with other teams across the organization.

**What You Will Bring with You**
- Successful completion of a recognized baccalaureate degree program in a related discipline, degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics strongly preferred
- Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in progressively more responsible leadership roles in a healthcare environment, preferably in an acute care academic teaching hospital
- Previous management experience in hospital Food Services preferred
- Preference and consideration will be given to active members of the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) who have, or are in process of attaining the Canadian Health Executive (CHE) Select certification program
