**_ Purpose_**:
The Vice President, Fraud Business Management, Global Fraud (The VP) will be a strategic advisor to the SVP, Global Fraud Management and the Fraud leadership team across all areas of the business, providing strategic direction and strong financial leadership to business decisions in the pursuit of customer centric solutions and cost avoidance. The VP will lead best in class centralized support to all Fraud teams globally; and will ensure that business strategies and initiatives are executed in compliance with our customers, partners, governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

**Culture**:

- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Creates an environment in which teams pursue effective and efficient operations while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory & compliance risk. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, those defined under the Scotiabank Code of Conduct, the Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption Policy, Scotiabank Information Security Policy, and the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework.
- Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison / values / business strategy, and managing succession and development planning for the team.

**Strategy & Communications**:

- Develops and oversees Fraud Strategic Initiatives including providing strategic support and communications strategies.
- Strategic leadership and prioritization of Fraud roadmaps with Fraud leadership team.
- Governance and oversight of automation initiatives ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget. Ensures performance metrics are met, invoices are tracked appropriately; Bank policies are adhered to, and overall relationships are effectively managed. Works collaboratively with Technology, Enterprise Digitization, Canadian Banking partners, and Global Procurement Services to ensure appropriate and effective management.
- Responsible for vendor management including support with engagements, sourcing, and procurement. Supports NIRA process for key initiatives.

**Incident Management**:

- Responsible to build out and oversee an Incident Management and Resiliency team which would be responsible for developing systematic solutions and services for the Fraud team to help manage incidents and attacks. This will include the management of incidents from end to end, from identification to resolution, stakeholder management, root cause analysis and reporting. In addition, the team will develop proactive measures to build resiliency in the people, processes and systems that can help prevent the occurrence, size, and impact of Fraud for the Bank

**Risk and Governance**:

- Help Global Fraud transform risk into enduring competitive advantage while navigating our most complex business issues. Establishes and implements consistent structures and procedures across Fraud in alignment with the Bank’s policies and operating model.
- Leads implementation of strategic initiatives across Fraud - working with partners on both short
- and long-term implementation to meet overall implementation, as applicable. Overseeing and enhancing processes supported by appropriate documentation
- Role will have ownership over the interaction model with 2nd line, audit, and other key risk partners (Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk) and lead governance initiatives in partnership with Internal Controls
- Responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining, quality assurance programs. Ensuring that the program operates effectively and aligned with Bank policy and regulatory requirements and results of QA are used to further enhance Fraud.
- Ensures that Business Continuity Plans for the function are up to Global Operations standards across all locations through regular testing and monitoring on a quarterly basis.

**Financial Management, Performance & Capabilities**:

- Thought leadership on optimizing resources (people and technology) to best benefit for customers and the Bank.
- Responsible for budget and capacity planning including FTE management to ensure resources are effectively aligned across Fraud to deliver end-to-end coverage. Oversees costs ensuring they are in alignment with the Bank’s policies and ensuring organizational changes and real estate are appropriately managed.
