**Position Description**:
We are looking for a Patient Information Clerk to join our Ambulatory team with the Rare Diseases clinic. As a Patient Information Clerk, you will frequently be the first point of contact when patients and families arrive to the clinic. You will provide service in a customer-focused manner. You will facilitate the delivery of patient care by providing a high level of support and assistance to patients/families and staff. You will also support the operation of the team/clinic by providing clerical and administrative functions in a proactive, organized manner. In this role, you will also maintain and update a RedCap database to facilitate clinical and and quality work.

**Here’s What You’ll Get To Do**
- Greet patients and families, and assist in meeting their needs when appropriate
- Schedule and coordinate appointments and meetings, including reminder calls to patients and families
- Provide registration support to patients and families during clinical operations
- Organize and maintain patient charts, as well as electronic and paper information filing systems
- Maintain electronic calendar/schedules
- Maintain and backfill RedCap data
- Assist staff in accessing RedCap data as required for clinical follow-up, statistics and quality improvement purposes.
- Coordinate clinic administrative functions to ensure efficient operations
- Provide clerical support to all health care staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Support the operation of the team/department by providing clerical and administrative functions in a proactive, organized manner
- Prepare and forward requisitions/documents in a timely manner.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**
- Diploma from a recognized Medical Administration program
- Previous clerical experience in a hospital/medical environment preferred
- Experience with patient registration systems is required
- Proficiency with computers (i.e. word processing)
- Experience with data entry/database management an asset
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities
- Ability to be self-directed, to be flexible and to take initiative
- Attention to detail and efficient time management
- Strong customer service orientation
- Patient registration experience is an asset

**Employment Type**: Temporary Contract
- 13 Months
