The School of Natural Sciences in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Architecture at Laurentian University

The School of Natural Sciences is the newest and largest academic unit in the Faculty of Science, Engineering &
Architecture. Our faculty members are actively involved in research projects covering a wide range of fields,
including applied and theoretical chemistry, environmental biology, biomedical science, forensic toxicology,
materials science, neurobiology, zoology as well as science communication. The unit boasts a Canada Research
Chair in Stressed Aquatic Systems, and houses the Vale Living with Lakes Centre, a world-renowned research
centre on the main environmental issues of our day.
Laurentian University, located on Atikameksheng Anishnawbek territory in Sudbury, Ontario, serves over 8000
students and is one of two bilingual universities in the province of Ontario. Committed to its bilingual, tricultural
mandate, Laurentian University offers an outstanding university experience in English and French with a
comprehensive approach to Indigenous education. Laurentian’s beautiful, forested campus is surrounded by
