**POSITION**: Raven Cashier

**REPORTS TO**: Supervisor, Indoor Operations

**LOCATION**: Raven Lodge

**STATUS**:Full & Part Time positions available

**Primary Objectives**:
The Raven Cashier is the first point of contact between Nordic Retail, Rentals, Lessons, Tours and the guest. Duties include selling Nordic tickets, rentals, merchandise, lessons and tours as well as cash handling, balancing and providing guests with resort information. Raven Cashiers must be efficient, highly organized, and demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as quickly develop an in-depth knowledge of the resort and its products.

**Responsibilities**:
**Specific**:

- Operate assigned POS system and perform daily cash procedures ensuring accuracy at all times.
- Dispense tickets/vouchers and rental forms, issuing or attaching accordingly.
- Complete daily tasks such as filing, cleaning, general maintenance, etc.
- Ensure all merchandise in the Retail area is properly “faced” and well-stocked.
- Notify the Supervisor or Manager if retail stock or stationary is low.
- Up-sell products by informing guests of Nordic merchandise and lesson/tour products as well as other services.
- Keep up-to-date on retail products and lesson availability to promote and sell to the guests.
- General knowledge of the resort (i.e. Nordic trail network, Biathlon Range, Tube Park, Alpine area, etc).
- Must be available to work in other areas of the resort including outdoors.
- Ensure the safety and security of the Raven Lodge by adhering to set safety rules and regulations.
- Participate in regular Product Knowledge sessions and remain updated on Nordic merchandise.
- Match guests’ needs with available lessons and book according to their ability.
- Take reservations and upsell lesson and activity packages, as well as deal with general inquiries.
- Liaise with Manager/Supervisors to ensure guests get to the correct lessons and instructors are available.

**General**:
This is a basic outline of day-to-day responsibilities. Adjustments will be made if necessary to reflect the needs and expectations of the Mt. Washington Alpine Resort management team:

- Be the ‘face’ of the Raven Lodge and the first point of contact for guests.
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of in-house departments and products.
- Be prepared to switch location at no notice depending on guest volume.
- Be aware of program numbers and communicate staffing needs to the Supervisors when necessary.

**Expectations**:

- Raven Cashiers must adhere to the policies and procedures of Mount Washington Alpine Resort.
- Be quick to learn and self-motivate as well as possess the ability to multi task in a very fast-paced environment.
- Schedule flexibility a definite asset.
- Must be a team player and able to work without supervision.
- Strong guest service skills is a requirement.
- Ability to up-sell products is a huge asset.
- Must be able to sit and stand for the duration of a shift.
- This position requires grasping, typing, writing, standing, sitting, repetitive motions, lifting, listening as well as hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Perform additional duties such as assisting in the Rental, Outdoor Operations and Cafe areas as required.
