The human resources team is growing and looking to add an HR Consultant to the team.

**About the Opportunity**

SUMMARY: The Link: Youth and Family Supports is looking for a Human Resources (HR) Consultant that is responsible for delivering HR best practices and HR solutions that support The Link's mission, vision, values and policies.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Consultant supports and advises leadership on operational Human Resources related issues. This position is responsible for the day-to-day requirements of all components of Human Resources including recruitment and selection, employee and labour relations, compliance, policy administration, performance management, disability management and training. The incumbent provides comprehensive full-cycle Human Resource support to employees and management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide coaching and counseling to address issues related to HR challenges, employment standards and labour relations;
- Support management and staff through all phases of the performance management cycle;
- Conduct workplace investigations in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager and provide advice on appropriate outcomes and recommendations, while ensuring the completeness of the investigation file;
- Coordinate and manage the processing of employee leave of absence cases, which includes administering Short Term claims (paid/unpaid sick leave), Long Term Disability claims, Worker’s Compensation claims, MPI, Service Canada Sick Leave Benefit, Educational and Personal Leaves;
- Work with program areas and managers to develop new positions and position descriptions to meet program and organizational needs;
- Full-cycle recruitment;
- Develop and facilitate training;
- Maintain HRIS system, trackers and other reports as needed;
- Participate in the implementation of the Organizational and HR operating plans, goals and objectives;
- Actively participate in Human Resources initiatives and projects as time and resources permit;
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and adherence to all applicable legislation, standards and guidelines.

EDUCATION
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources
- CPHR Designation or willingness to obtain

EXPERIENCE
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a Human Resources environment performing a broad range of Human Resources functions
- Experience working within a unionized environment is an asset, but not required
- Experience within the non-profit sector is an asset

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- In-depth knowledge of human resources operations and best practices; knowledge of employment standards, human rights legislation, and collective agreements;
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining a keen sense of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to professionally communicate both verbally and in writing with employees and external partners;
- Ability to maintain highly sensitive and confidential information;
- Functions effectively as a team member, demonstrating emotional intelligence and objectivity when dealing with challenging/changing work environments;
- Process facilitation and project management skills and experience.

SALARY RANGE: $55,000 - $60,000 depending on experience. The Link offers group insurance and pension plans.

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week - Monday-Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm with a one hour unpaid lunch (please note this position is located on-site only)
