**Systems Support and Maintenance**
- Monitors the service request queue and assesses urgency and ownership of the request
- Collects and analyzes data related to possible student record duplication; liaises with stakeholders when appropriate; determines student record for retention; takes corrective action to merge all relevant information; notifies impacted stakeholders
- Troubleshoots and resolves hardware and software issues in the Registrar’s Office
- Provides alternate and/or temporary solutions and guidance through to resolution of technical issues
- Implements hardware and software upgrades
- Ensures reliability, connectivity and efficiency of all Registrar’s Office systems
- Coordinates hardware and software rollouts conducted by Information Technology Services (ITS) on behalf of all RO departments
- Creates ITS service requests for various RO business needs and acts as a liaison between end-users and ITS to ensure problems are resolved

**Registrar’s Office Business Processes**
- Provides high-volume bulk, routine and special order printing services to RO areas; upon request, coordinates and provides mail services to other Institute departments
- Operates the folder/inserter
- Monitors and corrects printer output to ensure production quality meets predetermined standards; troubleshoots printing-related equipment problems
- Maintains an inventory of printer-related supplies
- Maintains an inventory of official RO forms; verifies quality, design, content and security features to ensure RO requirements are met
- Maintains departmental inventories of computers and peripherals
- Tests modifications and enhancements to identify issues/errors; ensures desired functionality is achieved
- Participates as a member of project teams for new systems or system upgrades, modifications and/or enhancements for the RO
- In consultation with the Functional Analysts and/or Associate Registrar, develops and documents procedures, maximizing efficiencies and ensuring data integrity

**Reporting**
- Manages requests for Personal Education Number (PEN) submissions to the Ministry of Advanced Education
- Runs reports to identify inaccurate data; corrects data quality issues
- Runs data cleanup reports for distribution to various RO departments; verifies accuracy once data cleanup activities are complete

**Operational and Other Duties**
- Develops and maintains documentation and training materials for use by the RO and other institute staff as appropriate
- Manages online elections for the Board of Governors and Education Council
- Provides backup to other Registrar’s Office departments during peak periods
- Remains current with record keeping practices, policies and procedures (both BCIT and FOIPOP)
- Undertakes related duties as assigned, consistent with the job grade of this position

**Qualifications**

**QUALIFICATIONS***:
**Education**
- Diploma in Computer Systems, Business Information Systems or related program**Experience**
- Four years of current, relevant experience working in a complex enterprise environment, preferably related to student systems and data in an academic institution**Software/Computer Application(s) and Expertise**
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with student information systems (Banner preferred)
- Excellent computer literacy including hardware, software, networking, etc.
- Proficiency in the use of online content management systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective individual and group communication and presentation skills
- proven ability to problem solve, organize and prioritize tasks, respond to tight deadlines and demanding workloads in a complex and rapidly changing environment
- Medium lifting, pushing and pulling is required for up to 50 lbs occasionally; 10-20 lbs frequently
- Bending, squatting and reaching (agility) will be required
- Must be able to independently investigate, analyze, plan and make responsible decisions
- High level of initiative with demonstrated experience working autonomously and with mínimal direction
- Demonstrated ability to work in a flexible, collaborative and team-oriented environment
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and customer service skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with a wide variety of managers and staff at various organizational levels and capacities
- Must be customer service oriented with an emphasis on quality and attention to detail
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as required
