**Adult Day Program - Recreation Assistant**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
The Adult Day Program Recreation Assistant is responsible to help and support with improving the quality of life of frail and/or physically disabled seniors in the community through the weekly programming.

**Short term contract**

**Position is 30 hours per week for 8 weeks**

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist with the coordination of activities of the Adult Day Program
- organization, implementation of activities
- discuss changes in client needs with team so that the program can be appropriately structured to be responsive
- maintain program supplies as required

**ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES**:

- Relationship building

- Teamwork
- Technical and computer Knowledge
- Experience Working with Seniors
- Knowledge of Dementia/Alzheimer

**- Fluently Bilingual**
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and,
- be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

**This position is based on receiving funding from Canada Summer Jobs.**

**Salary**: $15.50 per hour
