The People & Culture Generalist will bring an overall knowledge of human resource functions but is wanting to move their career forward as a strategic business partner to the business and be a part of a high functioning team that is changing people and culture every day.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support in the day-to-day operations of the HR department;
- Develop HR strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the company is in compliance with all provincial or state employment laws and regulations;
- Coach managers through difficult employee issues and support offboarding as required;
- Support with payroll & HRIS system set-ups;
- Oversee the health and safety program including participating in the joint health and safety committee;
- Engage in employee relations, ensuring company guidelines are administered in a fair, equitable and non-discriminatory manner;
- Develop retention and employee experience strategies and programs;
- Oversee the performance review process for head office and support the process for other sites;
- Coordinate timesheet entry for various departments and work with finance to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time;
- Provide supervisory guidance to HR Administrator.

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A degree in HR management or a related field or an equivalent in education/experience;
- CPHR or working towards designation is preferred;
- Solid understanding of HR-related legislation in BC;
- Minimum 5 years of human resources or people management experience;
- Excellent communication (oral, written) and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and within a team;
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office programs;
- Highly adaptable to change and ability to work in fast-paced environment;
- Extremely well organized and accurate, with superb attention to detail;
- Retail industry experience is an asset;
- Payroll experience is an asset;
- Positive attitude to work in an entrepreneurial company that is growing quickly.
