TOP Sports is looking to hire an experienced and passionate camp manager to join our growing team at our summer sports camps in Collingwood, Ontario. For the summer of 2023, we will be offering Multi-Sport camps throughout most of July and August at a premier sports location right in the heart of Collingwood.
All applicants should be very organized and outgoing, and bring plenty of energy, passion, and engagement to every day. Experience running or leading a summer camp setting is required, as well as extensive experience working with youth in a sports setting. Expeirence teaching a vareity of sports, including soccer, basketball, flag football, lacrosse, and camp games is an asset.
**Applicant Requirements**
- 1-3 years of camp management experience is a must.
- 3+ years of camp counselor/coaching experience is required.
- Experience coaching/teaching students of all ages in a variety of sports settings.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to delegate effectively with a staff up 3-5 counsellors.
- Works well with mínimal supervision, and asks for assistance when needed.
- Required certifications include CPR, First-Aid, and Vulnerable Sector background check. Certifications can be obtained through TOP Sports.
- Manages conflict situations appropriately and professionally.
- Excellent social and verbal communication skills.
**Accountability**:The Summer Camp Lead reports to the Camp Director
**Pre-Camp Hours**:20-30 hours working on preparation, onboarding, training, and summer camp planning.
**Camp Hours**: Week of July 3 to the week of August 11, 8am-4pm Monday to Friday. No holidays or weekends.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Plan, guide, and oversee the summer camp program, which includes upwards of 40-50 kids and 3-5 staff on a weekly basis.
- Oversee summer camp staff, ensuring all staff are on-task and adhering to the TOP Sports Staff Code of Conduct.
- Oversee and implement all schedules for staff and campers related to daily programming.
- Operate all aspects of the summer camp program (including policies and procedures) in a safe, timely, efficient, and relevant manner in accordance with current standards.
- Address crisis management, discipline, and troubleshooting issues related to campers and/or staff.
- Responsible for programming and overseeing the multi-sport camp section, including running the day-to-day programming.
- Communicate professionally with campers, parents, staff members, and other community members on a daily basis.
- Responsible for the creation and planning of daily camp activities and activity schedules.
- Responsible for recording any incident or medical reports, including allergies, injuries, and conflicts.
- Responsible for creation and execution of summer camp safety plan, including evacuation plan, inclement weather plan, and active threat plan.
- Coordination of all drop-off and pickup of campers throughout camp weeks, including any early pickups.
- Responsible for providing feedback to all summer camp staff, including weekly status meetings with the entire staff.
- Liaise with the Camp Director on changes that need to be made to summer camp programming on a weekly basis, including staff changes, programming changes, and policy updates.

TOP Sports Camps were founded in 2017 on the belief that sports camps should be an interactive experience where kids can have fun, discover a passion for sport, and build essential character skills. Underscoring that belief was the idea that kids should be exposed to as many sports as possible during their youth, building athletic literacy, preventing early specialization, and developing multi-sport athletes.
Throughout every camp, TOP Sports campers will spend the majority of their time working on their chosen sport of the week. For the other portion of camp, campers will be exposed to other sports and activities that they may not have participated in before, ranging from field lacrosse to ultimate frisbee, and everything in between.
Our goal at every camp is to have every camper arrive on Day 1 nervously excited to get started and leave at the end of the week with a new group of friends and a burgeoning passion for sport. Our coaches strive to achieve our mantra of "sweaty heads & smiles" at the end of each day; providing a fun and safe experience for all campers.
Compensation for this role will be determined by relevant experience. Weekly salary ranges between $750-$850. The final salary will be determined based on the experience and qualifications of the applicant. Initial interviews will be done via Zoom Call.
