**University Health Network (UHN)** is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of** Scientific Communications and Program Research Assistant** in our** Elisabeth **R**aab **A**ccelerator of **S**cience to **E**nd **N**eurofibromatosis (**ERASEnf**) **Research** Program.**

The** E**lisabeth **R**aab **A**ccelerator of **S**cience to **E**nd **N**eurofibromatosis (**ERASEnf**) is privately funded research program focused exclusively on addressing critical gaps in care and research that limits the development of innovative care models that improve quality-of-life in neurofibromatosis (NF). ERASEnf solicits and funds collaborative team projects that focus on the biological, psychological and sociological well-being of NF patients. The primary objective of ERASEnf is to take a holistic approach to the neurofibromatosis patient and be a catalyst for innovation in neurofibromatosis management.

**Position Summary**:Manage all research-related communications activities ensuring that information about ERASEnf-funded research as well as relevant external research is communicated to the lay public accurately, clearly and timely. Compelling and engaging writing is an essential part of the position. Manage the scientific aspects of the ERASEnf research program, which funds and coordinates cutting edge research in neurofibromatosis.

**Responsibilities**:

- Write updates, appropriate for a lay audience, related to neurofibromatosis research projects, relevant external publications and scientific meetings
- Design graphics and figures to distill research advances into easily digestible visual content
- Work with the directors in the finalization of ERASEnf research-related announcements by providing appropriate knowledge and information concerning the scientific content as well as the status of ongoing research in neurofibromatosis funded by ERASEnf
- Responsible for maintaining and improving the content of ERASEnf’s research website
- Manage the ERASEnf Calls for Proposal Program
- In consultation with the ERASEnf directors, develop the agenda for ERASEnf’s annual research and patient symposiums
- Support and maintain the vision, mission, priorities, and guiding principles of the ERASEnf. Understand the strategic direction and purpose of the Research Program and conform to stated strategies and business needs, develop standard research procedures, and maintain records to comply with regulatory requirements
- Ensure that confidentiality and security of all information under his/her supervision is maintained
- Develop and deliver presentations as required and provide input and suggestions on existing content
- Participate in internal and external meetings
- Perform all other responsibilities and projects as assigned by the Director

**Credentials and Qualifications**:

- MSc or equivalent
- Expertise in experimental biology, cell biology, molecular genetics or bioinformatics preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in translating complex scientific language into clear and engaging stories for the lay public
- Established skills in developing scientific reports, presentations, and bus
