WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The HR Specialist is responsible for coordination of several programs, initiatives and associated systems within the Human Resources Division, with areas of focus including Talent Acquisition; Learning & Development; Employee & Labour Relations; Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness; Employee Experience; Total Rewards & HR Systems.

This HR Specialist Role will primarily focus on Employee and Labour Relations.

Using highly developed organizational skills, the HR Specialist will negotiate and collaborate with HR partners and team members to connect systems and programs ensuring they work together seamlessly. This position will be an integral contributor to support the achievement of optimal client service delivery throughout the organization.

The primary focus of this position will be supporting our HR Systems:

- Coordinate enrollment of all staff and leaders into benefits programs and initiatives according to the terms of hire and Collective Agreements
- Provide coordination for leaves of absence utilizing HR systems and in collaboration with Abilities Case Management Specialists, HR Consultants and leaders as appropriate
- Coordinate non-union salary administration programs
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to coordinate job evaluation for all non-union positions
- Coordinate salary increases for unionized positions
- Participate in the development & delivery of communication and education related to Compensation & Benefits
- Support askHR
- Data entry for all HR systems as needed

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field or equivalent experience, or

Undergraduate degree in a related field with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management

Graduate diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent related experience

In pursuit of CHRP or completion of CHRP

An ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite programs

One year of experience working in Human Resources or business environment

Experience practicing in a unionized environment is preferred

Experience working within the healthcare sector or broader public service sector is preferred
