L'Administration portuaire Vancouver-Fraser ("APVF" ou Port de Vancouver ) est une importante entité publique qui supervise l'exploitation, la gestion et le développement de l'une des portes commerciales les plus importantes, les plus diversifiées et occupant une position stratégique majeure en Amérique du Nord, conformément à la loi maritime du Canada. Située sur la côte ouest du Canada, l'APVF est responsable de la gestion efficace et durable du port de Vancouver, qui comprend un vaste réseau de terminaux maritimes, d'infrastructures de transport et d'installations industrielles. L’APVF vise à devenir le port le plus écologique du monde, assurant une prospérité économique par le biais du commerce, tout en maintenant un environnement sain et en favorisant l’essor économique des communautés.

Le port constitue un lien essentiel entre l'Amérique du Nord et les marchés mondiaux, facilitant le mouvement des marchandises, depuis les produits en vrac, comme le charbon, les céréales et les minéraux, jusqu’aux marchandises diverses, aux produits forestiers ou aux produits fabriqués. Ses vingt-neuf terminaux desservent dix secteurs de l'économie canadienne, que l'on peut classer en cinq segments clés de transport maritime : le vrac, les marchandises diverses, les conteneurs, l'automobile et les croisières. Ces terminaux sont équipés pour accueillir différents types de navires, des grands porte-conteneurs aux vraquiers. Le port de Vancouver représente une entité essentielle pour les provinces de l'Ouest et pour le succès de tous leurs plus grands secteurs orientés vers l'exportation. Le port constitue également un canal clé pour les importations et les exportations, par son importante contribution à l'économie canadienne. L’APVF est en effet une des plus grandes administrations portuaires de cette nature à l’échelle mondiale. Outre son importance économique, l’APVF joue également un rôle critique en ce qui concerne les aspects sociaux et environnementaux de la région, en collaborant avec les communautés indigènes, les gouvernements locaux et divers intervenants pour veiller à ce que les activités du port se conforment à des pratiques durables et apportent une contribution positive à la communauté. L’APVF s'engage à adopter des pratiques durables, à minimiser les émissions et à promouvoir des initiatives qui respectent l'environnement. Le port de Vancouver entretient également une étroite collaboration avec les opérateurs de terminaux, les compagnies maritimes, les chemins de fer et les entreprises de camionnage. **Objectif du poste**

Le ou la titulaire du poste de président et directeur général de l'APVF rend compte au conseil d'administration, devant lequel il est responsable. Le titulaire du poste (Il, elle, eux) est chargé de la direction et de la gestion stratégiques du port, de la promotion de la collaboration entre les intervenants, de l'optimisation des opérations et de la promotion d'une croissance durable. Le président et directeur général joue un rôle essentiel dans l'établissement de la confiance et de la transparence avec les locataires et les intervenants, y compris à tous les paliers de gouvernement, chez les communautés indigènes et avec les divers partenaires de l'industrie. Il doit exercer ses fonctions dans des paysages politiques complexes et faciliter la coopération entre des intérêts divers. Les principales priorités associées au poste sont l'amélioration de la réputation de l’APVF, la promotion d'une croissance durable et l'optimisation de l'efficacité et de la résilience de la chaîne d'approvisionnement.
