**Job Summary**:
The Ontario ACORN office of ACORN Canada is looking to hire a phone banker to provide support for social justice campaigning in the province. Afternoon and evening hours. Room for organizational advancement.

**Job description**:
Make phone calls from our Ottawa office location to existing low income ACORN members to:

- Invite members to community meetings and protests
- Motivate them to take on leadership tasks

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Have strong social and people skills.
- Must be bilingual in English and French. Verbal communication skills in Arabic/Somali is considered an asset.
- Ability to listen in order to identify issues that are affecting our constituency.
- An interest in social and economic justice
- Experience is not necessary to apply.

**Hours and Compensation**
- 2 x 4 hour shifts a week from 5-9PM (total of 8 hours a week)
- Shifts are available on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays
- Hourly wage at $17/hour
- Potential for more part-time hours and advancement to full time community organizing depending on office need and budget
