Freight Broker

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and customers to secure freight shipments
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to ensure competitive pricing
- Coordinate the movement of freight from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery
- Utilize data entry and customer relationship management systems to track and manage shipments
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize supply chain processes and improve efficiency
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify new business opportunities

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight brokerage or related field
- Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain, and transportation industry
- Proven track record in account management and sales management
- Experience with inside sales and cold calling to generate new business leads
- Familiarity with AS400 or other transportation management systems (TMS)
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable rates with carriers
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

**Skills**:

- Data entry proficiency for accurate tracking and documentation of shipments
- Account management skills to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and carriers
- Sales management abilities to identify opportunities, generate leads, and close deals
- Knowledge of 3PL (third-party logistics) operations and best practices
- Understanding of supply chain dynamics and optimization strategies
- Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software for efficient communication and follow-up
