Rhythm Rhythm Rhythm is an Artists-In-Residence company that works in Alberta schools. We teach rhythm ensembles and improvisation through percussion, body movement and voice to elementary and junior high school students. Our program has been sold-out since our inception in 2013.

Lucas has built collaborative environments to foster creativity and personal expression. As a result, school communities have become more vibrant and resilient. Lucas believes participants' and communities’ success starts with facilitators belief in themselves.

Rhythm Rhythm Rhythm is looking for someone with a strong sense of self, likes having fun, and is willing to take risks to help young people and their communities reach their full potential through creative music making.

**Job title**:Artist-In-Residence teaching improv & ensemble through percussion.

**Location**:Schools in and around the Edmonton area

**Terms**:Part-time contract work (20hrs/Week) - Full time hours May & June

**Salary/Rate**:Starting wage $31/hr

**Requirements**:

- Must have a reliable vehicle.
- Must love working with kids.
- Must be a clear communicator
- Must have ability to acquire a criminal record check.
- You like to drum
- Adaptable to work with changing staff, environments and students.

**About the Role**:
You will be facilitating group music and games daily which will culminate in a large community drum circle. Your job will start with younger grades and move to full school residencies by May & June.

**Responsibilities**:

- Communicating with schools about upcoming residencies.
- Support schools in residency planning process.
- Facilitating multiple drum circles with different classes Monday to Friday.
- Leading to a community drum circle with students, parents, and staff at the end of the residency.
- Working with a variety of ages and abilities.
- Setting-up, taking down and caring for rhythm equipment.

**Recommended Character Traits & Background**
- Punctual, Energetic, Compassionate, Self-reflective
- Conflict Resolution, Group Facilitation and Management Skills
- Experience working with youth in a leadership role.
- Music, dance, or theatre degree, or equivalent experience.
