We are looking for an experienced and motivated Telecommunications Field Survey Technician to support the field component of Telecommunications projects in Ontario, Canada. Please note this will be primarily an in-field position throughout Southern, Central and Eastern Ontario. Travel, hotel stays and per diem may be required on occasion.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collection of topographical data both urban and rural using modern survey equipment.
- Collection and identification of underground utilities for planning purposes using modern locating equipment.
- Collection of aerial Hydro Pole data using modern aerial survey equipment.
- Prepare survey data in AutoCAD and ArcGIS platforms.
- Field layout and staking for construction using modern survey equipment.
- Completing field design reviews, scope validation and assessment.
- Reading and interpreting outside plant records (data, maps, fiber network designs).
- Operate various types of GPS or Total Station Surveying and Utility Locating Equipment.
- Identification of existing Telecommunication equipment and cables.
- Complete GIS based and manual field sketches and documentation of existing Telecommunication infrastructure.
- Following company standards and procedures related to Health & Safety while performing assigned job duties.
- Liaise with construction to assess and support the mitigation of real time field related conflict.
- Collaborating with team members at all levels to overcome project challenges.

**Qualifications**:

- **Minimum 2 years of related field survey experience is an asset.**:

- Minimum 2 years working knowledge of Telecommunications OSP fibre design, copper design and RF plant design are an asset.
- Knowledge of Telecommunications based Construction methods are an asset.
- Graduate from a technical college program preferably in civil, electrical/telecommunications, GIS, or equivalent experience.
- Organized and self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
- Strong MS Office skills and experience with AutoCAD.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders and interpret their needs.
- Willing to contribute actively to team discussions, sharing experiences and ideas.
- Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to work in difficult terrain conditions and uneven surfaces.

**Salary**: $24.00-$32.00 per hour
