The Insignia hotel is a unique hotel with rich history and charm. Formerly known as the Drawbridge Inn, our hotel was initially built in the 1960’s. Throughout the history of Sarnia, the drawbridge was the place to be. Today, The Insignia Hotel is part of the Tribute Portfolio Collection, and we continue to grow and prosper with the beautiful city of Sarnia. We offer a full-service 84 room hotel with amazing amenities such as saltwater pool, dry saunas, gym, fine dining restaurant and bar. We also have a private banquet hall and drawbridge room available for business, conferences, and leisure events.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Create opportunities in CI/TY, adding all pertinent details. Manage group bookings by entering rates, contact information, and room types into CI/TY and LightSpeed to create group blocks. Follow up on block cut-off dates and release or add rooms as necessary.

Maintain detailed reservation notes and communicate with all hotel departments daily to ensure a seamless guest experience by keeping them updated on sales-related information that may impact their operations.

Enter rooming lists and manage individual reservations in Lightspeed if needed.

Create hotel packages.

Negotiate local corporate rates, and centrally negotiated rates through MarRFP.

Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the local and regional market.

Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and travel agencies.

Conduct site tours and entertain potential clients in the restaurant.

Represent The Insignia Hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.

Collaborate with the marketing and events team to develop promotional strategies and campaigns.

Participate in promotional activities within the city to showcase and promote the hotel's offerings.

Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to the management team.

Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and challenges.

Attend and proactively participate in meetings.

Complete full training, and stay up to date on MarRFP, CI/TY, LightSpeed, Sertifi, and other Marriott systems as required.

Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow team members (both within the department and in other hotel departments), to help achieve our common goals of maximizing guest satisfaction and profit margins.

Other reasonable duties as required.

**SKILLS AND REQUREMENTS**:
2+ year of hotel sales or similar experience is required.

High school diploma or GED is required.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Sales, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.

Fluent in written and oral English (required)

Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is an asset.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Strong business acumen and strategic thinking

Experience with Marriott System such as MarRFP, CI/TY and/or Lightspeed and/or One Yield and/or Sertifi is an asset.

Experience in software programs commonly used in sales and marketing roles such as Canva is an asset.

Great time management and multitasking abilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

The ability to provide an excellent level of customer service, even in stressful situations.

Willingness to work long hours, irregular shifts, and on weekends and holidays.

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
