Reporting to the Director of Optimization and Shared Services, the Environmental Manager will provide environmental leadership, oversight and execution to our Darling Ingredients locations in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Manitoba. In collaboration with the Darling corporate environmental department, the Environmental Manager will determine and execute environmental initiatives, programs and capital projects.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:*
- Work with all facilities to ensure environmental compliance with Provincial Regulations and Legislation
- Develop environmental strategy, initiatives, projects, programs, processes and procedures and lead their execution across all 6 facilities
- Provide support to Plant Managers with compliance initiatives
- Complete all required internal and external reporting and audits
- Participate and/or lead the execution of environmental capital projects
- Provide technical support and leadership in capital strategies and planning
- Conceive, lead & support plant level continuous improvement / impact reduction initiatives and to track and assess their successes.
- Darling Canada lead for Darling Ingredients Environmental, Social and Governance programs
- Track and assess the operational performance and costs of the air and water environmental control systems at Rothsay's facilities.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
- Lead monthly environmental updates with facilities and report monthly to senior executives
- Coordinate with corporate engineering and plant and fleet lead
- Provide technical support to plant-level environmental supervisors for wastewater treatment and air management equipment and systems.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:*
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or related field
- Sound knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations and permitting
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a management role or supervisory position
- Experience in project management and management of consultants and contractors
- Manufacturing experience is an asset
- Capital project execution experience is an asset
- Knowledge and Applied Experience in management of environmental Canadian, and Provincial Legislation and Regulations
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Compliance (Federal and Provincial)
- Fluency in French an asset
