Communications Coordinator

The Evangelical Free Church of Canada (EFCC) denominational home office is a faith-based, registered charity collaborating with approximately 150 Canadian churches to support gospel-centered philanthropy in Canada and internationally through local congregations and the presence of roughly 50 missionaries in numerous countries around the world.

**Position Summary**

Part-time position (3 days) with responsibility for a variety of communication duties for the two departments of the EFCC - ServeCanada (national) and ServeBeyond (international).

**Position Details**

Position: Part Time (1 year Contract - with the potential to extend past 1 year)

Days: 3 days (24 hours/week)

Office hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm PST

Start date: June 15, 2024

**Accountability**

The Communications Coordinator is responsible to the Communications Catalyst who reports to the Executive Director.

**Working Relationship**

The Communications Coordinator is a key member of an interactive, dynamic CommTeam (Communications Team) which is a 3-person subset of a larger office team. Our office collaboratively tackles tasks and projects which serve our churches, pastors and international ministries.

Part of your role will be to develop and implement a process of project-tracking for the CommTeam to ensure that we’re covering all our bases, and we’re effectively supporting each other.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- **Project Coordination**:

- ○ Website Management (Update online donation forms as needed| Coordinate with Webmaster and Social Media Coordinator for other needs/opportunities.)
- ○ Scheduling (As Communications Coordinator, you help to manage the schedule of the CommTeam, including project timelines and deadlines, and inviting other people to participate, e.g. in video creation in the studio.)
- ○ EFCC Directory (Oversee the timeline of, create and publish the EFCC Directory)
- **Database Management**:

- ○ RaisersEdge & Online Express (Update Lists in RE and ensure database content remains current and relevant
- ○ General administrative tasks relating to the organization and ‘clean-up’ of our database
- ○ Create and maintain online registration forms, donations forms and surveys
- **Administration**:

- ○ Zoom (Schedule new zoom meetings and be available to host meetings/webinars )
- ○ Updating and printing of personalized resources (from templates; Business Cards & Prayer Cards)
- ○ Scheduling print & publication timelines (for brochures, and printed office stock such as return envelopes, etc. )
- ○ File expense reports for the CommTeam’s Credit Card
- ○ Participate in weekly Office Team meetings (may include a request to take minutes)
- ○ Work closely with the Communications Catalyst to maintain the schedule of the tasks and projects of the CommTeam (possibly in Trello)
- **Assist others in the Home Office as time permits and needs arise**

**Requirements & Skills**
- **Training & Experience**

○ Strong computer skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Working knowledge of the Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Chat etc.)
- Desktop publishing (CorelDraw/Adobe/Affinity experience an asset but not essential; we use the Affinity suite in the office - your team will train you in what’s needed)
- Database management (Raiser’s Edge)

○ Video recording/production (Communications Catalyst can train you on the job)

○ Website maintenance/WordPress (if no prior experience, a willingness to learn is essential)
- **Skills**

○ Flexibility and adaptability

○ Strong written and verbal communication skills

○ Decisive and able to work independently

○ Organized and detail-oriented (especially for editing/proofreading)

○ Strong ability to retain and dispense knowledge

○ Flexible and able to multitask

○ Committed and mature Christian with a firm commitment to the EFCC’s Mission, Vision and Statement of Faith

○ Desire to serve in Christian Ministry

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Communication skills: 3 years (preferred)
