**Primary Function**:
As a member of the Human Resources team, the Learning and Development Specialist’s primary responsibility is the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning programs at TRIUMF.
Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Development, the L&D Specialist will ensure that the learning and development programs we build and deliver will enable employees to model the TRIUMF values of Excellence & Integrity, Safety & Accountability, and Equity & Inclusion as they progress along their career path.
The L&D Specialist has a broad range of experience and knowledge in the field of adult learning, post-secondary learning, and/or coaching. They stay on top of current trends in this rapidly evolving digital world and are eager to not only do things differently but to make a difference.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Developing comprehensive learning plans, comprised of training objectives, budgets, deliverables and timelines
- Managing projects and communication plans at all levels throughout projects
- Delivery of behavioral skills training content via live facilitation, online facilitation, or distributed/distance learning
- Logistics planning and management of courses/workshops/online learning events
- Coordination and support of Student development programs
- Administering Learning Management System
- Creating innovative and engaging learning solutions and end user experiences
- Evaluating the effectiveness of training by measuring and evaluating feedback from participants on the effectiveness and delivery of learning objectives
**Qualifications**
**Skills & Experience**:
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience
- Successful completion of a related degree in Adult Education, Adult Learning Certificate or equivalent combination of education or equivalent experience
- CTP, CTDP or other instructional designation preferred
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems such as Workday
- Experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adapt, Camtasia, etc.
- Excellent oral and written skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player
- Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate and present ideas and information
- Results-oriented, demonstrating ownership and accountability
- Working knowledge of project management practices an asset
- Coaching designation is considered an asset
Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
