**About Us**
**Job Summary**:
Reporting directly to the Machine Shop Lead Hand, the **_Conventional Machinist_** is responsible for setting up and operating our milling, lathe, or honing machines as directed by the department supervisor. The conventional machinist will work in collaboration with other machinists (operators, programmers, and conventional machinists), the production department, and the mechanical engineering department to manufacture the equipment and parts required for our packaging machines and production lines.
**Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Selecting tools and raw materials.
- Adjusting the speed and feed according to the material specifications on the machines.
- Inspect the finished parts.
- Deburring and clean the parts.
- Place parts into packaging with identification.
- Read and interpret the blueprints, work instructions.
- General turning, milling rarely honing of mechanical components
- Other tasks and responsibilities which fall within the applicant skills and expertise.
- Respect applicable occupational health and safety rules.
- Maintenance and housekeeping of work environment.
- Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment.
- Miscellaneous shop duties.
**What we are looking for**:
- Completed DEP(DVS) or ASP(AVS) in Machining.
- Proven work experience as a conventional machinist: 3 - 5 years (Reference).
- Experience on conventional lathe, milling, honing machines (small batch production).
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Knowledge of the cutting tools, cutting parameters (speed/feed) is mandatory.
- Proficiency using calipers, micrometers and measuring instruments to examine parts adequately.
- Bilingual - English and French.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills.

**Résumé du poste**:
Sous la responsabilité directe du chef d'équipe de l'atelier d'usinage, le machiniste conventionnel est chargé de régler et d'utiliser nos fraiseuses, tours ou machines de rodage selon les directives du superviseur du service. Le machiniste conventionnel travaille en collaboration avec d'autres machinistes (opérateurs, programmeurs et machinistes conventionnels), le service de production et le service d'ingénierie mécanique pour fabriquer l'équipement et les pièces nécessaires à nos machines d'emballage et à nos lignes de production.
**Les principales responsabilités sont, entre autres, les suivantes**
Sélectionner les outils et les matières premières.
Régler la vitesse et l'alimentation des machines en fonction des spécifications des matériaux.
Inspecter les pièces finies.
Ébavurer et nettoyer les pièces.
Placer les pièces dans les emballages en les identifiant.
Lire et interpréter les plans et les instructions de travail.
Tournage général, fraisage, rarement honage de composants mécaniques.
Respecter les règles applicables en matière de santé et de sécurité au travail.
Assurer l'entretien et la propreté de l'environnement de travail.
Effectuer l'entretien courant des machines et des équipements.
Tâches diverses dans l'atelier.
**Ce que nous recherchons**:
DEP(DVS) ou ASP(AVS) en usinage.
Expérience professionnelle confirmée en tant que machiniste conventionnel : 3 à 5 ans (Référence).
Expérience sur des machines conventionnelles de tournage, de fraisage et de rodage (production de petits lots).
Solides compétences en mathématiques.
La connaissance des outils de coupe et des paramètres de coupe (vitesse/avance) est obligatoire.
Maîtrise de l'utilisation de pieds à coulisse, de micromètres et d'instruments de mesure pour examiner les pièces de manière adéquate.
Bilingue - anglais et français.
Souci du détail.
Solides compétences en résolution de problèmes.
Solides compétences en gestion du temps.
Volonté d'acquérir de nouvelles compétences.
