- TEL OPRTNS / ITMC NTW OPT / ITMC 2Reporting to the ITMC Manager, the successful incumbent will be required to provide Acronym network management support services as follows:
**General Accountabilities**:

- On a rotating shift basis, assist in the operation of the Integrated Telecom Management Center (ITMC - Acronym Solutions NOC) by providing front-line support for network issues and provide technical support for reported problems on various telecommunications systems and/or networks, such as LAN/WAN data services, power system telecommunications, voice and commercial services and public sector networks.
- Monitor Acronym/Hydro One facilities consisting of microwave towers, Telecom Shelters and POPs and take action accordingly.
- Provide incident management support to customers with a goal of minimizing outage duration by working with and requesting escalations with various internal and/or external stakeholders (e.g. telecommunications carriers, vendors), as required. Perform all aspects of Incident Management for all networks on the current ticketing system, including investigation, triage and correlation of alarms. Escalate network issues or problems to the responsible Team Lead, on-call Team Lead or Manager, as required. Conduct shift turnover meetings.
- Perform incident Impact Analysis and document affected services during high priority events.
- Manage all aspects of the execution of planned telecom changes/outages required to support the maintenance of the network.
- Participate in Emergency ITMC backup testing at Acronyms backup facility.
- Assist in special projects or assignments, such as: participating in a committee as a member, participating in interdepartmental studies on telecom-related issues, assisting in developing standard specifications and policies and procedures, assisting in the evaluation of new products and/or services.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of current and future work programs. Recommend changes and maintain knowledge on new products and services, techniques, procedures, designs etc. that will result in work programs.
- Assist in the development, implementation and provisioning of designs for telecommunications systems to meet or enhance the reliability needs of the power system Assist in the development and preparation of engineering designs, design specifications, cost estimate, resource requirement and instructions for work or projects for telecommunication facilities.
- Assist in the provision of specialized engineering information, education and assistance to other units in the division and other Business Units in the corporation.
- Monitor acceptance testing and alarms testing, and remotely and inspect telecom facilities, as required.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Selection Criteria**:
**Education**
- Requires knowledge of commercial telecom service offerings and tariffs. Requires a good knowledge of English to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts involved in accomplishing work objectives in support of work programs
- Four-year university education in an appropriate field, such as electrical engineering, or by having the equivalent level of education

**Experience**
- 4-6 years of related experience
- Experience in telecom systems and networks.
- Experience with the established corporate telecom infrastructure(LAN/WAN), regulations, policies and operating procedures.
- Experience with the operation, maintenance of fibre optics and wired based transmission systems.
- Experience and familiarity with commercial telecom service offerings and telecom tariffs.
- Familiarity with the organization structure, roles and responsibilities.
