**CALL FOR MENTORS**

The UNA is looking for volunteer mentors for our _**Get Active Physical Activity Literacy for Women **_program.

Students of Kinesiology, FNH, and Psychology are invited to participate as mentors to participants of this initiative that aims to reduce psychosocial, cultural, and financial barriers women face to participate in physical literacy and fitness activities.

Mentors will be asked to develop a physical activity plan and teach physical literacy to participants and will receive an honorarium at the end of the program.

This four-month program will start on August 28, 2023:
**Duties**:

- Provide mentorship and support to women in need, focusing on areas such as increasing physical activity levels, goal setting, and motivation.
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs and goals of individuals and develop personalized physical activity plans.
- Offer guidance and a listening ear on issues, including emotional support and coping strategies when needed.
- Collaborate with other UNA community members and employees, such as program coordinators and personal trainers, to ensure comprehensive care for individuals.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of individuals in achieving their goals and make necessary adjustments to plans.
- Provide education and resources to individuals and their families regarding available support services.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, FNH, or Psychology (can be currently completing).
- Proven experience in providing mentorship or counseling services to individuals.
- Familiarity with issues and the challenges faced by women in sport/fitness.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to empathize with individuals and provide emotional support.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage schedules.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $150.00 per month
