**Position Overview**: Under the supervision of the Director of Quality Improvement and Professional Services, the Employee Training and Development Specialist will conduct staff orientations, training, coaching, and on-going professional development initially for Group Care staff, however responsibilities could cover other areas of service delivery.
- **Communication skills**: Able to deliver training to employees using different instructional techniques, such as lectures, group discussions, team exercises, or hands-on coaching.
- **Interpersonal skills**: Able to build rapport with new employees and foster a positive learning environment.
- **Collaboration**: Able to work with other departments to successfully integrate new employees into the organization.
- **Presentation skills**: Able to present information in a clear and concise manner.
- **Organizational skills**: Able to perform administrative tasks, such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment.
- **Instructional design skills**: Able to design and create training materials, such as manuals, online modules, or course materials.
- **Adaptability**: Able to adjust training methods to suit the needs of different individuals or groups.
- **Analytical skills**: Able to evaluate and assess the training needs of the organization.

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- Child and Youth Care diploma or degree.
- Child and Youth Care certification is a definite asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Group Care setting with progressive responsibilities.
- Significant experience in all aspects of Child and Youth Care.
- Experience in staff development is a definite asset.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to be a team player.

**Other Requirements**: A current, clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check, both within the last six (6) months. Valid Alberta driver’s licence, current driver's abstract (no more than 8 demerits) and a reliable vehicle. **Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.**

**Salary & Benefits**:$56,575.00 - $67,000.00** **annually** **(salary commensurate with experience). 3-weeks’ vacation accrual to start with an additional week added after 2 years. **We provide employees with a 100% employer-paid health benefits package (which includes vision, dental and prescription drug coverage, massage therapy, etc.) a 100% employer-paid R.R.S.P. equaling 3% of salary.We also offer free access to in-house courses and workshops for all of our employees.
