**What can I expect to do in this role?**: Reporting to the Manager, Highway Operations, you will:

- Manage and coordinate the activities of the Corridor Management section staff.
- Plan, organize and manage regional corridor management functions and activities.
- Provide land use planning and engineering expertise and resources to regional senior management.
- Protect the long-term safety, viability and integrity of the highway network within the region.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- You must be licensed by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) or have the ability to obtain a license within the first six months of employment.
- You have a valid class G driver's license or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario.
- You are able and willing to travel occasionally across the region and within Ontario.

**Leadership and Management Skills**:

- You have strategic leadership and management skills to provide leadership to a diverse, multi-disciplined team and oversee and schedule work in accordance with corporate and divisional priorities.
- You have a dedication for developing, building and leading organizational capacity through inclusive, positive, and values based leadership in areas of organizational design, recruitment, talent and performance management and labour relations matters.
- You have the ability to be responsible for the overall compliance with legislative statutes, collective agreements, government and ministry policies, directives, guidelines and commitments related services.
- You have sound judgement and political acuity skills to provide authoritative advice and guidance to senior management.
- You have demonstrated the** leadership behaviors, attributes and mindsets** to lead the OPS into the future.

**Technical Skills and Knowledge**:

- You have advanced knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of civil engineering with emphasis on transportation planning, corridor management and highway design.
- You have thorough knowledge of related acts and regulations (i.e. Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act, Drainage Act, Planning Act, Environmental Assessment Act, Highway Traffic Act, etc.), the ministry's engineering policies and procedures, design and construction standards and specifications.
- You have the ability to identify deficiencies in corridor management projects and to establish the framework for the creation of new business opportunities to finance highway operations.
