Community Futures South Georgian Bay (CFSGB) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting the growth, retention and expansion of local business. Reporting to the General Manager, and as an active participant of the CFSGB team, the **BUSINESS ADVISOR**, will play a critical role in building strong relationships with the business community and supporting client success. The Business Advisor often acts as the first point of contact for our clients delivering excellent customer service, navigating programs and resources, and providing business advice. They will assist clients with understanding the programs and financing services offered by CFSGB, and help with loan submissions including reviewing business plans and cash flow projections, and loan administration/client follow-up. They will also assist with delivering key projects including the Business Transition/Succession Matching Program (BizLink), the PowerUp/T3 Coaching Programs, and other CFSGB programs, with a focus on small business engagement, education and project management.

Working with CFSGB staff, the Board of Directors, the small business community, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem, the Business Advisor will play a critical role in building strong relationships with the business community.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide counselling and resources to start-up and existing businesses on a wide range of topics including registration, financing, marketing and growth, and business transition;
- Provide advice and guidance to loan applicants, existing borrowers and those engaged in CFSGB programs with respect to business planning, financial analysis and projections;
- Loan administration and reporting;
- Engage with mentors, experts and coaches to supplement entrepreneurship advice and education;
- Conduct business outreach activities, and sustain meaningful and on-going relationships with clients and partners;
- Deliver training/workshops to small businesses and community partners, engaging external facilitators as required;
- Assist with/and or lead the delivery of Community Economic Development projects and effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information, status and issues to the General Manager, project team members and ecosystem partners;
- Identify gaps and communicate ideas to improve entrepreneurship education, programs, and processes with a positive and constructive attitude;
- Promote the programs of CFSGB;
- Evaluate the programs on an on-going basis;
- Keep accurate, current records of consultations using CFSGB software and other tools as required.

Qualifications:
1. Experience working with or running a small business.

2. Prior customer service and/or consulting experience.

3. Post-secondary education in Economic Development, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.

4. Project coordination/management experience.

5. Presentation and facilitation skills.

6. Analytical skills and finance/financial services experience.

7. Ability to complete complex projects independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team.

8. Experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including community-based organizations, local and regional government, and the public.

9. Proven ability to be flexible and thrive in a creative environment with frequent and competing deadlines, multiple tasks and performance expectations, and to set and exceed goals.

10. Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and work effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, including peers, management, Boards of Directors, and external stakeholders.

11. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to analyze and prepare reports and deliver effective presentations to small businesses, management and external partners.

12. Highly developed strategic, organizational, analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the capacity to understand and respond to emerging issues.

13. Strong computer and IT skills, including MS Office Suite (365 preferred), WordPress, and social media platforms.

14. Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver’s license and access to a vehicle for business purposes
