Department Overview Quality
**Job Description**:
The primary responsibility of the Quality Specialist, Manufacturing is to action relevant quality activities effectively and efficiently for our Richmond, BC manufacturing plant in support of our Video analytics business. Using proven methodologies to set the foundation for quality it will be the responsibility of this role to work very closely with plant leadership and other Video manufacturing plants to implement consistent processes and practices that will drive operational quality improvements and assure product quality standards are achieved at plant level. Reporting to the Director, Quality for the Video business, the Quality Specialist, Manufacturing will interface closely with the Site Director, Richmond plant to support all Quality related plant activities. He/She will collaborate with multiple cross functional teams throughout the organization to ensure that all quality goals and objectives are met.

**Duties and Responsibilities**: The Quality Specialist, Manufacturing is responsible for the overall quality performance of the Richmond plant. Key responsibilities include:
Develops, maintains, and reports on plant quality Metrics/KPIs relating to stated Goals and Objectives.
Prepares and presents plant quality performance results on a regular basis to plant leadership.
Identifies plant quality concerns (product, process, supplier) based on data and other inputs, assesses the associated operational risk and failure costs, and implements appropriate actions to drive improvement.
Applies relevant Quality tools and techniques to facilitate the resolution of identified quality issues, determining root causes, and initiating appropriate corrective actions.
Leads NPI efforts at the plant level to ensure a smooth transition of stated quality requirements from product development to mass production.
Coordinates all plant related recovery activities in support of any Stop Build or Stop Ship scenarios.
Champions quality improvement projects as required to reduce product and process quality failure costs and facilitate overall ‘Cost of Poor Quality’ reduction.
Manages the MRB process for plant related material dispositions.
Drives ‘Delivered Quality’ improvements at the plant level to ensure that outgoing quality performance is optimized to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Ensures that processes and techniques employed are lean, reliable, and cost effective, supportive of LEAN/CI manufacturing principles and optimization of process/product flow.
Collaborates closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team to drive plant production test yield improvements.
Provides direct quality tools/techniques training and support to manufacturing staff, encouraging a Six Sigma culture and data-based approach to quality improvement.
Manage the internal audit program and lead audits
Point of contact for document control for the site (releasing/archiving documents etc)
Coordinate External ISO 9001 audits
Other duties as assigned.

**Specific Knowledge/Skills**:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
5 or more years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment with electro/mechanical products.
Highly organized, good attention to detail, capable of multi-tasking and following
