**Overview**

As the Program Coordinator, you will play a vital role in our daily operations, working in collaboration with other Mahmowenchike staff in the delivery of culturally appropriate programming, services, and events. You would work alongside our broader team at our three locations, assisting to organize traditional programming, including feasts and ceremonies, arranging the participation and attendance of Elders and community members, encouraging children, families, and staff to participate in cultural and traditional events, and assisting in providing and/or coordinating traditional and cultural training for staff, including but not limited to, participation in the development and delivery of a cultural orientation process for new team members.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Working collaboratively with the program educators and other Mahmowenchike staff to plan, prepare, and deliver culturally relevant programming and language lessons to the children in the programs at all three locations
- Working collaboratively to organize traditional programming, including feasts and ceremonies, arranging the participation and attendance of Elders and community members,
- Collecting, organizing, and gathering Indigenous resources and materials for our programs,
- Working in conjunction with our management team to plan for cultural implementation across programs and sites
- Working as a team member, striving to create a healthy atmosphere that adheres to the Seven Grandfather Teachings and Mahmowenchike's Core Values

**Qualifications**
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum 3 years working in an early childhood education setting
- Minimum 3 years working in an administrative role
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including the _Child Care and Early Years Act_ and the _How Does Learning Happen? _pedagogical document
- Standard First Aid and CPR, level C (with infant and child CPR) certification
- Current, clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
- Up-to-date immunization record
- Ongoing involvement with Indigenous culture and traditions, comprehensive knowledge, understanding and awareness of traditions, ceremony, teachings, and practices
- Understanding of the barriers and issues facing Indigenous individuals
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Must show initiative and be able to work independently and cooperatively
- Proficiency with a computer, including but not limited to Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset
