**Position: Corporate HSE Manager**

**Location: Stony Plain, AB**

**Type: Full Time, Permanent**

Barrier Group is looking for an experienced **Corporate HSE Manager**. We are looking for an outgoing, adaptable individual looking to learn and grow within our team and industry.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Evaluate, modify, develop and maintain HSE management system elements, and assist in preparing and implementing annual strategic HSE plans
- Manage and administer company loss control program
- Develop, manage and administer company HSE Program
- Conduct periodic review of the HSE Manual and issue updates and revisions as necessary
- Attend start-up meetings and coordinate all project requirements as it relates to Health and Safety
- Monitor compliance with regulatory, legislative, company and client HSE requirements
- Ensure all Barrier incidents are managed in accordance client requirements through timely notification of incidents to key stakeholders, thorough investigations, lessons learned development and corrective action management
- Support the development, training, implementation and continuous improvement of Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practices
- Provide assistance in pre-contract, tender assessment, and contract administration for projects in relation to HSE requirements and expectations
- Provide support and guidance to project management as it relates to HSE Management System and WCB Claims Management
- Provide advice to field and corporate personnel on all aspects of HSE including advice in relation to relevant legislation, directives, codes of practice and policy matters
- Maintain project statistics and records and monitor incident frequencies and safety violations
- Plan, audit, and facilitate safety management system
- Liaise with sub-contractors and clients
- Prepare and/or review all reports required by the HSE Program
- Demonstrate safety leadership by actively participating in formal inspections, audits, assessments and observations on project sites
- Create buy-in from employees towards safe work practice compliance and reporting of incidents, promoting strong participation at safety meetings and other Health and Safety initiatives
- Follow-up on recommendations from safety meetings and audits

**Required Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 5 years of previous experience as a Corporate HSE Manager
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with 3-year clean Driver’s Abstract
- Certified NCSO
- CSTS or PCST Certification
- Standard First Aid Certification
- Must be able to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug and alcohol testing

- Must be dependable
- Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to travel
