Willows Construction is currently looking for an **HSE Manager **to join our team.

**Position Scope**

To facilitate adoption of industry leading HSE practices and behaviors on Willows Construction's Sites. To enable ownership of safety by project /site leaders and their teams by providing them with proactive coaching and expert HSE guidance. Long term success is demonstrated by consistent safety performance.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead by demonstrating the required behaviours, attitudes and mindset to further develop an already strong corporate safety culture.
- Maintain Company COR certification/compliance
- Facilitate and participate in the development and implementation of project HSE plans, goals and objectives.
- Participate in the development of HSE performance measures, understand the relative value, interpret results and coach/influence workers on how to improve HSE performance.
- Evaluate and help forepersons and supervisors develop communication strategies to inform and advance the adoption of the desired safety culture.
- Provide preparation assistance and feedback for leaders of HSE meetings with employees and contractor staff.
- Provide HSE training, orientation and personal coaching to site workers.
- Coordinate and participate in the analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation of HSE related training, as required.
- Facilitate the implementation and administration of corporate HSE policies, processes and systems and monitor compliance with all relevant legislation, rules and regulations.
- Participate in developing safety portion of project execution plans owned by site and driving change in pursuit of the desired culture and goals.
- Provide consultation and assist in risk identification assessment, hazard analysis and job planning. Develop job aids and methods to assist site personnel in these tasks.
- Review, provide coaching, and support as required in incident investigation with the key objective of increasing the capabilities of operating personnel.
- Compile and maintain records associated with the responsibilities of the position.
- Monitor site conditions and behaviours to identify risks and provide site forepersons and supervisors with input and recommendations to enhance safety performance.
- Conduct safety audits, coordinate audit recommendations, and assist in the development of corrective action plans in consultation with forepersons and management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and adherence to all applicable legislation, standards and guidelines, and influence the adoption of standards when applicable.
- Maintain knowledge of current HSE strategies, trends and technologies by developing industry working relationships and participating in exchange groups, associations and committees.

**Qualifications**
- Certificate, diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety
- Minimum five (3) years experience in Health, Safety & Environment Management Systems
- Construction Site experience preferred
- Detailed working knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and other relevant Federal and Provincial Health & Safety legislation
- Working knowledge of OHS policies, standards, legislation and procedures pertaining to the industry
- Working knowledge with WCB and experience in claims management, modified duty, and employee accommodation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills including oral, verbal, and written communication skills

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- STONY PLAIN, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Health & Safety Management: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver's License (required)
- CSTS 20 (required)
- First Aid Certification (required)
- COR Auditor Designation (preferred)
- NCSO (preferred)
