**Who We Are**:
The GVFB provides assistance to approximately 15,000 people monthly across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and the North Shore. We also provide food support to 150 agencies such as housing agencies, women and children’s shelters, transition homes and after school programs, which in turn provide hot meals and snacks to thousands of people each week, including people who are unhoused.
Our mission is providing healthy food to those in need. Our vision is to create healthy communities through fair and effective food systems. Currently, the GVFB distributes 8.9 M lbs of food each year.

**Position Overview**:
The Logistics Lead oversees the daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling of logistic movements, based on the Greater Vancouver Food Bank’s (GVFB) operational needs. The Logistics Lead schedules and coordinates all varieties of logístical movements between all related functional areas, and work effectively with the Operations department, among other departments, to communicate and resolve any issues that arise. The Logistics Lead brings a blend of logístical expertise, strong organizational skills, and is a team player with a willingness to contribute and a dedication to making a difference.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate with various parties to set clear, efficient, and achievable pickup/delivery appointments.
- Work closely with the Driver Team Lead to assign daily responsibilities to the Drivers, including food donation pick-ups and drop offs, and allocate weekly duties to the Drivers, with the involvement of the Logistics Assistant Manager, to maximize productivity.
- Work with the Driver Team Lead to create and maintain weekly and monthly Driver schedules to accommodate all operational needs, and liaise with the Logistics Assistant Manager when time off requests have been approved, to make sure appropriate coverage is planned for the Driver Team.
- Lead the team in building and maintaining donor relationships.
- Coordinate with 3PLs and source carriers when there is an operational need.
- Attend, organize, and participate in meetings as needed.
- Ensure regular cleaning and inspection of all vehicles, and that functional areas are clean, tidy and organized, adapting to all business, media and special event requirements.
- Design and implement the Driver training plan and SOP manuals, in conjunction with the Driver Team Lead, Logistics Assistant Manager and Fleet Manager.
- Monitor the accuracy of shipping/receiving data input of all inbound and outbound movements. Provide training to Drivers as needed.
- Check inbound and outbound food quality and report inconsistencies to the Logistics Assistant Manager.
- Ensure all outbound orders are checked, complete, and exact before distribution.
- Ensure all product returns are put away correctly and internal processes are followed, including supplies, nutrient recovery, and fresh, dry and frozen product for all predetermined staging areas.
- Provide insight to streamline internal processes.
- Obtain supplies and materials in accordance with the annual budget.
- Review all reported mechanical problems or concerns with the Logistics Assistant Manager and the Fleet Management consultant.
- Manage and communicate with GVFB Facilities Manager on any issues that may arise in functional areas.
- Hold regular check-in meetings with the Driver Team Lead and the Drivers.
- Adhere to the GVFB Safe Driving Policy, including the correct and efficient reporting of any incidents and accidents.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Logistics Assistant Manager.
