SCHOOL BOARD REQUIREMENTS
- Bilingual - strong knowledge of English and French.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to lead professional

- Excellent leadership skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license to travel to all schools to provide support.
- Good knowledge of Bill 56 and Bill 9
- Experience working with the Indigenous community is an asset.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is an asset.
- High level of empathy, care, and sensitivity to the needs of students.
- Experience working in schools and school boards is an asset.
- Good understanding of trauma-informed attachment-based practices

NATURE OF THE WORK
The position of education consultant encompasses responsibility for providing advice and support to staff of educational institutions and services in the implementation, development, and evaluation of

CHARACTERISTICS
The education consultant participates in carrying out the educational project and the special projects of educational institutions; he or she participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of their success plan, while complying with the academic and administrative requirements of both the educational institutions and the school board.
The education consultant contributes to the implementation of programs of study and training, provides advice to the teachers and administration concerning the interpretation of those programs, designs and leads training workshops and sessions on program components; he or she collaborates in developing learning situations and supports experimentation in class.
He or she provides advice and support to teachers either individually or in a group format in matters pertaining to their daily teaching activities; he or she develops or selects and delivers training and instrumentation activities designed to respond to needs in pedagogical adaptation, innovation, and development.

RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS
The school climate consultant will be responsible for the detection, identification and evaluation of problems impacting the school climate including socio-emotional behavior, bullying, sense of belonging, and positive emotional health.
This consultant will assist administrators, teachers and other professionals in the selection and implementation of programs impacting school climate.
Ensure that the school board stakeholders are aware of the legal requirements of the Act to Prevent Bullying and Violence in Schools (Bill 56) and support school teams in adhering to these requirements.
Assist school teams in the creation of their Anti-Bullying and Anti-Violence Plan (ABAV) and their End-of-Year Reporting.
Support school teams with the collection of data regarding school climate using the Our School Survey.
Respond to the needs of school teams by suggesting evidence-based resources and programs that support a reduction in incidents of bullying and violence.
Collaborate with in-school professionals, support staff and teachers to develop preventive measures that will help individual s students to self-regulate and help staff to de-escalate critical situations.
Assist staff in debriefing incidents involving violence or conflict and in developing safety plans and other measures to prevent the reoccurrence of such situations.
Provide school teams with professional development training on all aspects pertaining to prevention and response to bullying and violence and on topics related to school climate (e.g., classroom management, trauma-informed schools, restorative practices, cultural awareness. etc.).
Collaborates with other school resources, partner organizations, and the Minister of Education.
Attend the provincial School Climate Committee meetings.
Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
Responsible for the Intervention in Underprivileged Areas dossier (IMD)

Effective:
January 20, 2025

Remuneration
$49 456 - 92 027 in conformity with the salary scales set by the
MEES.
