Are you passionate about organizing events and delivering exceptional client service? Hotel Grand Pacific is hiring a Catering Coordinator to join our team. Located on Victoria’s beautiful inner harbour, we are a proud member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts collection.

If you have service experience within the hospitality industry and are looking to move more behind the scenes of event operations, this would be a great opportunity.

Work hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm. Some evenings/weekends may be required from time to time based on the needs of a group or event.

Main Duties:

- Handle inquiries for meetings & catering functions, conducting site inspections and meeting with clients prior to functions as necessary
- Maximize the use of the function space and maximize revenues through upselling
- Ensure the accuracy of function bookings and maintain function sheets
- Effectively communicate client requirements to other departments to ensure expectations are met
- Build relationships with clients to establish trust and encourage repeat business
- Support the Catering Manager with administrative duties as required

What we’re looking for:

- At least 2 years of recent experience in food service operations, reservations, or convention planning
- Friendly demeanour with professional verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills
- Team-oriented with an ability to see the bigger picture
- Solid typing skills and highly proficient with MS Office programs
- Knowledge of Opera PMS preferred
- Post-secondary training in Hospitality Management or Business Admin an asset
