POSITION OVERVIEW
The Analyst, Fund Investments is an integral member of the BDC Capital Fund Investments team and is involved in all aspects of the investment and portfolio management process.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION- Analyze and benchmark fund performance, prepare financial projections and prepare reports and presentations on portfolio activity;- Maintain an internal database with information related to fund and underlying portfolio company activity and performance;- Coordinate with middle and back office in relation to transactions and internal reporting requirements;- Follow and analyze Venture Capital market trends;- Assist the Fund Investment team in the identification, selection, and analysis of fund investment opportunities (including financial modeling, market analysis, and underlying portfolio company analysis);- Assist with special projects, as needed.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or equivalent (concentration in finance or in accounting is preferred);- CFA and/or MBA (completed or in progress) is considered an asset;- Experience in Fund investments is considered an asset- Experience in a financial or banking institution, particularly in venture capital, would also be an asset- Minimum of one to three years of relevant work experience;- Strong research, financial modeling, and analytical skills;- Strong attention to detail;- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work independently using initiative and good judgment to assess priorities;- Exercise discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive situations and maintaining an appropriate level of confidentiality- Excellent interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills in English; French fluency would be an asset
