Finance Clerk- 6 Month Contract

**Job Title**: Finance Clerk

**Reports to**: Senior Accountant

**Schedule**: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

**Salary**: $45,990 per year and it will be 6 months contract position

**Job Summary**

Supports the agency’s fiscal responsibility by assisting with a variety of accounting and finance tasks.

**Responsibilities
- Reconcile Credit card statements and investigate any discrepancies
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely fashion
- Assist Finance Manager in preparation of quarterly financial reports
- Assist in updating depreciation schedules according to auditor reports
- Review and process operating invoices, ensuring proper documentation, authorization and coding
- Ensure purchase orders have proper authority and cheques have adequate signatures
- Reconcile business credit card transactions and obtain any missing receipts
- Assist with year-end reconciliations and audit preparation
- Perform filing, copying and other clerical functions
- Verify that all documents are correctly signed and processed.
- Respond to any concerns and inquiries in a friendly and professional manner
- Process payments and deposits
- Manage business records٫ review٫ add and update financial and related data
- Create and manage bills٫ checks٫ receipts and so on
- Process and manage routine credit cards, EFT, transactions, and petty cash

**Qualifications
- 2+ years hands on experience processing accounts payable transactions using Desktop Quick Book
- Excellent communication, relationship-building skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities effectively and efficiently with mínimal supervision
- Able to make sound judgments requiring confidentiality, tact and diplomacy within tight timelines
- Understanding and adherence to Alpha Houses Mission
- Accuracy, reliability, meet deadlines and attention to detail must be seen as a high priority
