**About the position**: The Family Home Visitor provides services in conjunction with Public Health Nurses, as part of the Healthy Babies Healthy Children (HBHC) program. The program’s goal is to support families and promote the optimal growth and development of young children. Family Home Visitor duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to, conducting home visits, health teaching using role modeling, demonstration, and other hands-on approaches, providing information and support on pregnancy and healthy child development to expectant and new parents, and linking families to community agencies.

**Qualifications and Competencies**:

- Required minimum education level is completion of secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in community-based service delivery is an asset
- Experience working with parents or caregivers and their children
- Respectful, patient, understanding, nurturing, and accepting of differences
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships that are caring and respect appropriate boundaries
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills are also necessary
- Respect for confidentiality
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to take direction and work as part of a team
- Ability to provide non-judgmental and inclusive service to all clients
- Working knowledge of office computer software programs
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and the use of a vehicle
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and can provide proof of immunization

Terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the ONA Allied Collective Agreement. Hourly wage range: $22.82/hour - $27.50/hour, 70 hours in a two-week period. OMERS pension and a comprehensive Health and Dental benefits package.
