**ABOUT THE POSITION**

Working in a remote camp setting on a rotational (3x3) basis with limited access to resources, the Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Loaders in a construction setting to ensure the ongoing development of the Back River Project. The Loader Operator will follow and promote compliance with Sabina’s site safety policies and procedures while working with a multidisciplinary team in an open-pit environment. We are seeking 4 individuals to start on May 4 or 25, 2023.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Reporting to the Supervisor, Open Pit & Earthworks or Designate, duties will include (but are not limited to):

- Working with the open pit supervisor for operation in the open pit including loading trucks, working with the crusher operations, and other open pit mine related duties in a production environment;
- The safe and efficient operation of loaders to move and load quarry rock and, or other materials as requiring during construction and related activities;
- Conduct and document pre
- and post-operational inspections on equipment and report any deficiencies to Supervisor or designate;
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment such as clean, lubricate, and refill equipment;
- Work with multidisciplinary crew to ensure the ongoing development and construction of the Back River Project and maintain cleanliness of project areas;
- Operate 2-way radios and liaise with project teams as required; and
- Promote compliance to Sabina’s site safety procedures and policies.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Five (5) years’ experience operating heavy equipment in construction and/or open-pit mining environment with significant experience operating loaders;
- Experience working in and around crushing operations related to quarry work;
- Completion of a Heavy Equipment Operating ticket preferred;
- Completion of High School Diploma or GED;
- Ability to move, lift, and carry up to 50lbs and ability to walk up to (but not limited to) 5km daily in adverse weatherconditions; and
- Ability to read, comprehend, write, and converse to ensure safe working conditions on site.
