**About the Organization**
- CORES supports the research community by providing access to research equipment, valuable service, and technical expertise. The position focuses on providing technical support to the Flow Cytometry (FACS) and Cellular & Molecular Digital Imaging (CMDI) CORES facility, with a dual split appointment in the CORE.

**Job Summary**
- The purpose of the job is to assist CORE managers as they provide services to the research community. Assist with sample preparation, maintenance of equipment and general duties to maintain the facility.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate analyzers/sorters on behalf of untrained facility users and assist trained users and other staff in their operation as needed. Organize and implement training sessions for new users, keep training materials up to date and accessible to users, maintain record of user training status and access permissions.
- Perform routine quality control checks of analyzers, perform regular maintenance and minor repair, monitor schedule and user access.
- Provide technical support to facility users - assist in evaluating and troubleshooting problems and assist users with data acquisition and analysis. Advise as required on experimental design and protocol development in consultation with facility manager.
- Maintain lab stocks, replenish stock as needed, and assist in routine administrative tasks, including scheduling and billing. Printing research posters during high volume days.
- Provide training to ensure the safe and optimal use of microscopes and laser equipment to prevent personal injury or equipment damage. Assisting users to optimize their imaging.
- Attending to equipment failure and documenting failures and error messages.

**Note**
Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Science, including immunology, cell biology, and/or medical sciences with laboratory experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

**Assets**
- Laboratory experience outside undergraduate programs. Experience working with cells ex vivo is preferred.
- Experience operating flow cytometers.
- Experience with flow cytometry software (FACSDiva, Flowjo or FCS Express) is preferred.
