The Toronto Blue Jays are seeking an experienced executive Chef to fulfill an opening within our Major
League Nutrition department. The position will be based in Toronto, ON for the duration of the Major
League baseball season (April-November) with additional travel to our training complex in Dunedin, FL
as necessary.

**Responsibilities**
- Collaborating with Major League Dietitian to build meals that fit within nutritional guidelines of the Toronto Blue Jays nutrition program
- Developing menus for arrival (lunch or breakfast), pre-game, and post-game meals
- Preparing and executing menus for selected meal periods
- Managing and working cohesively with other members of the kitchen staff to deliver a highquality meal experience for our players and staff
- Creating a system of daily operations for kitchen team members to follow to promote efficiency
within the kitchen space
- Maintaining purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards within our facility
- Ensuring compliance with all food-handling and sanitation regulations
- Monitoring equipment operations, performing preventative maintenance, maintaining supplies,
and facilitating repairs as necessary within the kitchen space
- Understanding player/staff needs for food allergies, periodization, and special diets or requests
- Controlling food waste and managing overall food costs
- Contributing to Spring Training and Off-Season development camps, as needed
- Assisting with coordinating road meals (i.e., hotel, airline, and visiting stadium catering)

**Requirements**:

- 5+ years of foodservice/cooking experience
- Culinary degree
- ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification (or similar)
- Current passport (or ability to obtain passport immediately upon hire)
- Highly motivated and excellent problem solver
- Ability to work a non-standard work week, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work within multicultural populations
- Proven track record of managerial skills and menu design/execution
- Receptive to feedback and working with others within the kitchen space
- Experience with multicultural populations and devise menus around the needs of their
respective backgrounds
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in the collegiate/professional sports setting (preferably within Major League
Baseball)
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
- Basic understanding of the sport and culture of baseball
