**PORTFOLIO**: Lonsdale Quay Market, The Shipyards, Tsawwassen Quay Market, and Nanaimo Quay Market, The Wallace Venue, and Pipe Shop Venue

**STATUS**: Permanent, Full-Time

The role of the **Maintenance Supervisor **reports directly to the Senior Property Manager while working closely with the Property Coordinator to support the Property Management Department with the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the property portfolio.

**1. SCOPE AND PURPOSE**

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees all aspects of the building maintenance program, contractor liaising and scheduling, and administrative duties related to management of the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department at Lonsdale Quay Market, including but not limited to the responsibilities outlined below, utilizing maintenance department staff where appropriate, and administrative support of the Property Coordinator. This role also requires liaising with the Communications department with onsite programming and events.

**2. CORE COMPETENCIES, CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALIFICATIONS**

The Maintenance Supervisor possesses and demonstrates the following experience and/or capabilities:

- Minimum 2 years previous experience in a supervisory role.
- Must be able to exert physical effort, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
- Technical knowledge of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing.
- Working knowledge of electrical, fire, and health & safety codes.
- Working knowledge of building and wiring schematics, power and hand tools, and other technical trade-related equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of all mechanical equipment critical to the operation of the building.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Ability to manage project timelines and budgets.
- Ability to lead, direct, motivate, and delegate to others.
- Strong conflict resolution/management and decision-making skills.
- Ability to converse with tenants, general public, and management.
- High degree of professionalism in dealing with diverse groups of people, including staff of all levels; community leaders; clients; other stakeholders.
- Ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround
- Demonstrate positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with all departments and has a ‘can-do attitude’.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Friendly, professional, and personable demeanor.
- Proven ability to keep Company confidences.
- Common sense, and critical thinking.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Level 1 First Aid Training an asset, but not required.
- Experience or exposure to MS Suite is an asset, but not required.
- Possesses necessary documentation to work legally in Canada.

**3. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**

The following outlines the roles and responsibilities of the Maintenance Supervisor, as it relates to the onsite property maintenance for the portfolio:
**a. Maintenance Management & Building Systems**

Ensure integrity is maintained for all building systems and consider preventive action for operation of all mechanics.
- Ensure the facilities are maintained properly and in good repair at all times.
- Maintain all building systems directly, or indirectly through outsourced contractors.
- Schedule and ensure completion of all periodical maintenance tasks whether carried out in-house or outsourced.
- Conduct daily inspections of critical building systems, the exterior, and the building envelope to promptly identify and address issues.
