Job Summary:
As a Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of landscaping professionals and ensuring the highest standards of property maintenance. Your expertise will guide your team through various tasks including pruning, mowing, weeding, and plant care, utilizing your extensive knowledge of horticulture practices. This role requires a dedicated individual who thrives in a leadership position and is committed to excellence in landscape maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a crew of landscaping personnel in daily operations, ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standards and within designated timelines.
- Perform hands-on maintenance duties including pruning, grass cutting, weeding, and general garden care.
- Identify plants and provide guidance on their care and maintenance.
- Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment, including mowers and trailers.
- Drive company vehicles; maintain a clean and safe driving record.
- Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching to develop skilled landscaping professionals.
- Plan and schedule work tasks, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Communicate with clients to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns with proactive solutions.
- Ensure adherence to all safety policies and regulations within the team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in landscaping or horticulture, with at least [2] years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of plant care, landscape maintenance, and gardening techniques.
- Proficiency in operating landscape maintenance equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong client relationships.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

**Job Summary**
- Plans, organizes, prioritizes, schedules, coordinates, supervises and evaluates the work of crews engaged in construction, maintenance and repair of gardens, landscaped areas; provides technical assistance to staff as necessary.
- Provides for staff training and development; trains assigned employees in their areas of work including landscape maintenance methods, procedures, and techniques.
- Supervises the use, care, and operation of landscape equipment; assist in maintaining equipment and vehicles for proper working order.
- Verifies the work of assigned employees for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications; ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
**Ability to**:
- Plan, organize, supervise, assign, inspect and evaluate the work
of others.
- Motivate and evaluate staff and provide for their training and
development.
- Analyze complex landscaping problems, evaluate alternatives and
recommend or adopt effective courses of action.
- Develop and implement work standards.
- Prepare clear and concise records, reports, and other written
materials.
- Recognize common plants, plant diseases and insect pests.
- Read and interpret plans, blueprints, specifications and manuals.
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative within established
guidelines.
- Maintain records.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those
contacted in the course of work.
**Additional SKILLS**:
- lawn maintenance
- interlock/ hardscaping
- pruning
- planting and design
- sodding
- bobcat experience
- simple use of tools such as chainsaw, aerator, line trimmer, mowers, power sheers, etc.
- previous pesticide spraying experience is an asset
- plowing/Snow removal maintenance(winter season)
