STC Urban programs, including Sawēyihtotān, offer a variety of services that impact our relative’s quality of life and address the social determinants of health. These services range from transitional housing, outreach services, emergency sheltering, health and wellness, parenting, harm reduction, kinship, culture, youth support, justice, employment training and education.

STC operates the Sawēyihtotān Transitional Home (STH), The Saweyihtotan mobile services outreach team and the Sawēyihtotān supportive family housing for individuals and families who are homeless and in need of mental health and addictions support. Programming is based on the teachings of the Medicine Wheel philosophy. Wahkomakanak (relatives) have the opportunity to maintain their sobriety and access in home support, 24 hours per day, to address their mental health and addictions and begin their healing journey, with the ultimate goal of transitioning to independent living. Sawēyihtotān delivers direct supports to participants with complex and multiple needs ensuring that all community members are receiving the best services within and outside STH.

The Supervisor is responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing approved strategies and business plans for the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the home, the outreach team and the housing complex. Provide support to community members in all matters relating to emergency-based housing, physical and mental health, addictions, advocacy, justice, income support and employment.

The Supervisor is under the direct supervision of and will report directly to the Sawēyihtotān Program Manager and overseen by the Director of Urban Integrated Services. The Supervisor will follow the Saskatoon Tribal Council Personnel and Financial Policies and the Sawēyihtotān Operations and Program Guidelines Manual.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide active leadership and role modeling regarding proper shift responsibilities and duties;
- Foster a solution-focused environment that is fair and consistent, with the intention to engage relatives and assist in creating linkages for required supports & services;
- Provide support and guidance to empower a team of staff who model the values and priorities of the STC through frontline leadership;
- Delegate assignments and work stations; maintain an even workload for staff; coordinate break and lunch times to ensure adequate coverage;
- Oversee the maintenance and administrative responsibilities related to the day-to-day operation of the Saweyihtotan program including nutrition, transportation, household inventory, shopping, cleaning and home maintenance;
- Assist in all aspects of budget and operations management by ensuring that all policies and procedures are upheld as set out in the Policy & Procedures Manual, including scheduling of monthly programming and processing financial documentation for honorariums and other expenses as required;
- Ensure staff complete injury/incident reports in a timely manner;
- Assist Saweyihtotan Project Manager with employee performance evaluations with regular feedback on individual STH staff on shift;
- Responsible for coordinating the initial training process for all new staff;
- Communicate effectively with other Supervisors, frontline staff and management regarding incidents, behaviors, activities, updates, absences, client care needs, as well as facility operations;
- Appropriately and safely address and assess high energy and potentially crisis level situations
- Provide one-on-one support for staff when necessary and provide healthy staff development and follow up;
- Provide bi-weekly updates regarding important training, changes to protocol, team meetings, and important information regarding relatives;
- Assist in organizing and facilitating monthly staff meetings;
- Ensure staff are adhering to their assigned job descriptions;
- Liaise important information between Staff and other departments when necessary.
- Maintain relevant training requirements as specified in this role and be open to any additional workshops or personal development that will enhance the service delivery of STC programs;
**DAILY TASKS**:

- Assist with recruitment, hiring, orientation and training of staff;
- Provide leadership, direction and daily supervision of staff including; mentoring, coaching, and completing performance evaluations;
- Oversee the maintenance and operational responsibilities are completed for the day-to-day functioning’s of the program as outlined by agreements, legislation and policy. This includes but not limited to; staff scheduling, effective operational budgeting, nutritional planning, domestic responsibilities and administrative responsibilities;
- Maintain professional and ethical boundaries and follow a strict code of confidentiality at all times as outlined in the _STC Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics_;
- Perform other related duties as defined and assigned by the reporting line
