Special Risk Insurance Managers Ltd. is currently seeking enthusiastic, driven individuals to join our multitalented Renewal Team as an Underwriting Assistant/Renewal Underwriter.

This position assists in the maintenance of policy renewals in collaboration with Underwriters and presents opportunities to grow within our company.

Due to the ongoing circumstances with the Covid-19 pandemic, you must have the ability to work from home for the foreseeable future, with the eventual expansion to a hybrid work from home/ office model.

As an Underwriting Assistant/Renewal Underwriter you will
- Work collaboratively within a dynamic team structure alongside other Underwriting Assistants and Renewal Underwriters
- Manage renewal business by reviewing risks and negotiating with brokers with the guidance and mentorship of underwriters
- Reexamine exposures at renewal and work with underwriters to problem solve on challenges
- Use company rating strategy to retain existing business, and contribute to team goals
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assessing and quoting endorsement & cancellation requests with accuracy
- Provide communication to the Policy Production team
- Maintain account files and renewal records
- Contribute to the development and strength of relationships with retail brokers

- Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
- Level 1 General Insurance license (or the ability to obtain within a certain time frame)
- 1+ year(s) Insurance industry experience
