Cedarwood Village in Simcoe, ON is seeking a **Cook** that is dedicated, energetic and above all passionate about preparing and cooking nutritious meals to our residents while adhering to food safety, food handling and sanitation procedures.

**This is a PART TIME position - 30 hours biweekly**

**WHAT WE OFFER**
- Starting rate of pay is **$22.13** per hour then moves to **$22.40** after 3 months
- Benefit package including: Employee and Family Assistance Program, Life Insurance & Pension **PLUS** an additional **$.25 per hour** in lieu of extended health benefits
- Paid Sick Days

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- **Must have** completed a degree/diploma/certificate (Cook Level 1 preferred) in a related field **OR** institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality cooking experience
- **Must have** a Food Handler’s Certificate and keep it up to date
- Preference will be given to individuals who have previous Long Term Care experience
- Must be available for all shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays

**SKILLS**
- Must have a sincere interest in people, the elderly in particular, and possess a genuine sensitivity to their needs
- Must be able to effectively handle the physical aspects of the position including, but not limited to the ability to bend, stand, lift, withstand various range of temperatures and have hands in water and have the ability to work safely by following established safety practices and procedures
- Able to multi-task and complete required routines within assigned schedules
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable within a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written in English)

Built in 1989, Cedarwood Village is a leading provider of long term care services in the Simcoe area and has a reputation for providing quality service. Cedarwood Village is one half of a continuum of care facility that also houses independent seniors. Together this community is called Cedarwood Village Retirement Apartments and Skilled Nursing Centre. Family owned and operated, Cedarwood Village is licensed by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as a Long Term Care Home designed to promote a home-like environment. The Home is a 90-bed, smoke free, facility with beautiful courtyard gardens accessible to all residents and their families.
