The UBC Department of Surgery, which includes more than 700 physicians and scientists, has training programs at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels, and pursues research to make advancements in knowledge and practice to improve health. The successful applicant will join a collaborative clinical and research community in the area of burn and wound healing at the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI).
The BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn and Wound Healing Program, aims to integrate and synergize the expertise at VCHRI to accelerate meaningful solutions for current challenges in wound care. The BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn and Wound Healing Program has long-standing collaborations with clinicians in the Departments of Pathology, Dermatology and Surgery, as well as the Complex Wound Clinic at the Vancouver General Hospital, providing the program unique access to patient biospecimens in addition to invaluable clinical expertise.
