**The Project**:
The Centre Block Rehabilitation Project is a long-term renovation, rehabilitation and rejuvenation project of national interest within the Parliamentary Precinct. WSP (in joint venture) is providing a range of multidisciplinary consultancy services, including design management, engineering design and contract administration. WSP's scope extends well beyond a rehabilitation of Centre Block (CB) and the Peace Tower (PT) to include a large multi-level, below grade Visitor Welcome Centre (VWC) located immediately to the south of CB.

**A day in the life**:
The role entails managing sub-projects / workstreams through the design development process, and includes the following tasks:

- Plan, execute and control the sub-project through all phases from initial feasibility through preliminary design/definition, detailed design, to issue of construction documents;
- Review earned value management reporting and develop proactive measures with the design team to ensure designs are delivered within cost and schedule constraints;
- Coordinate and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team (internal staff, external consultants, contractors and suppliers) to achieve the Client’s objectives consistent with the scope of services to be provided;
- Be responsible and accountable for ensuring that the required functions of the project are satisfactorily performed.

- Engineering or Architectural degree from a recognized University;
- PMI certification or equivalent would be an asset;
- Ten years or more of demonstrated experience with project management responsibilities;
- Previous experience with buildings and engineering projects is required;
- Previous demonstrated experience in successfully managing a team of professionals;
- Familiarity with all commonly used project delivery models;
- A sound understanding of scheduling techniques, budget development, and risk management is needed;
- Experience in Earned Value Management would be beneficial;
- Leadership, negotiation, communication and strong customer relationship skills are essential;
