**Position Summary**:
**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
**Strategy & Management**:

- Manage the makeup category innovation strategy in accordance with global makeup portfolio, strategy, and corporate innovation
- Support the creative development process for makeup category from concept through submission including concept development, research, presentation, and establishment of 3-year plan
- Research consumer insights & market opportunities via granular insights & analytics
- Identify existing gaps** **via commercial innovation leveraging existing heroes & underleveraged assets
- Support Commercialization Innovation effort as needed

**Conceptualizing**:

- Manage the development of innovative formulas with robust stories, providing marketing teams with bold story-telling tools used in designing 360 launches capitalizing on market trends/growth opportunities, and ensuring wins in all key regions
- Foster a deep understanding of the makeup market/industry trends, from ingredient, texture, form, claims and storytelling aspect
- Have finger on the pulse of the consumer and social media aspect of benefit, performance, and package delivery trends. What is being used, how and why
- Be able to communicate product concepts, positioning, and attributes visually and verbally through PowerPoint (buzz word sheets) and product profiles
- Research product claims to help lead the trend, meet market entry and product differentiation
- Meet with raw material vendors to expose external technologies and trends to influence conceptualization - as needed
- Attend trend presentations, trade shows, and outside vendor meetings to support the team in reviewing formula prototypes and track upcoming trends
- Ability to analyze and interpret sales data and consumer insights into sales trends, product innovation and portfolio insights

**Development**:

- Partner with lab capabilities in Melville and Canada to help accelerate innovation creation
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to meet timelines (Claims, R+D, and Legal)
- Manage the framework to continue the pipeline of pigments and pearls to help accelerate makeup innovation
- Communicate and collaborate with R+D when evaluating formulas to meet texture and performance needs
- Collaborate and help drive innovation with the Packaging team marrying formulas with new and different packages
- Manage a product through the production lifecycle upholding quality and safety from lab, to pilot to production
- When needed develop/shade onsite at the lab

**Communication and Messaging**:

- Present product evaluation, trends benefits and key positioning in internal meetings

**Qualifications** SKILLS REQUIRED**
- Relevant experience (3-4+ years); colour background preferred
- Undergraduate University/College Degree preferred
- Strong skills in tactile/aesthetic evaluation of cosmetic products as well as the ability to communicate product understanding
- Ability to think creatively and brainstorm new ideas to stay ahead of the market curve
- Excellent organization, communication and follow-through skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Multi-functional, flexible, to handle ever changing priorities.
- Strong written, oral, and presentation-based communication skills.
- Job requires both domestic and foreign travel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
- Well versed in social media and social network activities and trends.
